DrDominodog51 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2014 My computer has been running completely horribly for the last two years. So is the hard drive score average for a magnetic disk drive(Hard Drive)? Looking at the scores in the signatures for these forum posts it looks to be at the low end of the hard drive scores. Mac OS X 10.9.5 Intel Core i5 @ 2700 MHzGraphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6770M 4096 MB System RAM (Score: 133) - RAM Speed: 7759 MB/sCPU Tests (Score: 450)- Floating Point Operations/Second: 142855568- Integer Operations/Second: 273137376- MD5 Hashes Calculated/Second: 1121916Graphics Tests (Score: 152)- 3D Frames Per Second: 462Hardware Tests (Score: 19)- Primary Partition Capacity: 930 GB- Drive Write Speed: 58 MB/s
Nathan 71 Report post Posted October 7, 2014 Yeah, that's really not a great HDD score. Upgrading to an SSD will very noticeably increase your performance.
ttmk27 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2015 Yeah, one would think... my brand new crucial M500 240 GB ssd scored like a 26. I think my old Western Digital black HDD scored way higher then that when I built this computer. Of course it is advertised to be able to write up to 250 MB/s test only shows it at 105 MB/s.novabench score.nbr
Nathan 71 Report post Posted January 2, 2015 Some SSDs do not test properly on Novabench for Windows. This will be fixed in the next version. Your SSD is likely working correctly.
computerbroken3 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2017 (edited) Yes a new better SSD would increase your performance like samsung 850 evo.You can also try SSHD but they are not pure SSd's better go with SSD or with a best hard drive whatever you like.. Zombiewoof 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2017 Best way to raise your scores is to use a benchmark utility that actually works. This is not that utility. Shame on you, Nathan.
NickPick528 4 Report post Posted July 30, 2017 Novabench 4.0 is coming out very soon and will contain all of the hard drive/solid state drive bug fixes and a more advanced speed test that will be accurate.
