Newborn pet

Motherboard and CPU was a donation, rest was gathered from Classifieds in about 3 weeks.

Mobo is quite nice at least for me because I'm always behind hi tec stuff.

DFI lanparty DK P45 t3rsb plus
core 2 quad Q8400
2 X 1GB corsair dominator 7-7-7-20 @ 1333MHz
sapphire radeon HD 4890
128GB SSD sata 2 Verbatim
1,5TB segate HDD
philips DVD burner
old antec case
550W LC V2
2X UF80 fans

This system runs much cooler comparing to my old dual xeon (irwindale) PC.
And it feels more responsive then PC i have at work ...HP elite i5... though not so silent... but still much more quiet then the old one.
I was preety much on a tight budget when shopping for components.
All together costed me 240€ beside MOBO and CPU.
Probably I could get a PC with similar specs from clasifieds for same amount but it was fun bringing it to life.

I'll be adding USB 3.0 card and SD/CF card reader
A good 775 CPU cooler... ot at least new stock intel's C2D cooler

comments very welcome... suggestions on improoving - yes please

I have attached my score. Can anyone tell what I can do to improve this system? I am not so sure and not an expert on this .

@ CMH PREDATOR

if this is laptop computer then you probably have integrated graphic card and zero chances to improove... in case this is Desktop PC with a free PCI e slot then

you can make it much better.

You could insert a mid priced used grafic card for approximatelly 70-100 $/€ and you could get adittional 200-300 points. And sure you will be able to play

most 3D games without problems.

RAM... 3GB is max for most 32bit operating systems... so why bother...

In general it depends on your motherboard... if your MOBO supports FSB speed greater then 1066MHz then it is also worth to upgrade CPU and RAM.

Here's mine, and I suspect there's something wrong with my system. Cpu is getting half the score the average here shows and gpu is also significantly lower than what people usually get (it's gtx 660m btw, novebench doesn't detect it right because of the optimus, but the test was definitely made with that card). I've had problems with games lately, changing graphics settings is not doing a thing for fps (or very minimal), all the drivers are updated, no background programs running, laptop's plugged in, system recovery has been tried... So I ain't got the faintest clue what's up with this system.

help...?

Typically laptop slow downs could be related to temperature. Make sure the vents are clean of dust, fans are working, and CPU isn't running too hot in general.

I have no idea if this is decent or not. I've been trying to find a mac with similar specs to compare it to but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
*Also and tips or suggestions on what I could do, either with my computer settings or perhaps upgrading certain parts of my computer to get it faster would be great.

It's not bad. To give you an idea, the newest retina MacBook Pros are about double the score. A good place to start with an upgrade is to 8GB of RAM. Also, replacing your hard drive with an SSD will give enormous benefit

Here's my score, no overclocking on anything but the RAM which is DDR3 clocked to 2133. I ran the test with the CPU clocked to 4.2 and the difference was negligible so I figured I'd take it back down to lower temps. Runs the tests at around 50 Celsius. GPU is at around 40 Celsius.

I could not comprehend how Intel Core i5 is running at 1000 MHz. It is specified at 1800 MHz. What could the issue be? Result Submitted Anonymously - You can add it to your Profile

First build, got the GPU for free and have been playing around with overclocking, what I don't understand is why HDD score is so high compared to others when I would consider that I part I budgeted on. The score for my HDD sits between 75 and 80 points. Its a 1TB 7200rpm. The drive write speed is usually around 190 and I have about 900GB left.

Your GPU is testing at about half of what it should. It might be underclocked though, depending on your laptop, to keep it cooler. I'm not sure.
