  2. There is a free program out there called "end it all" that will kill background apps and unnecessary processes.

I actually own the same MB and if you are using 2 sticks of memory make sure they are in the right slots, it makes a difference: For example here's my result with single channel memory: AMD FX8320 EightCore running at 3514 MHz ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series GPU 3992 MB System RAM (Score: 119) - RAM Speed: 5300 MB/s CPU Tests (Score: 637) - Floating Point Operations/Second: 235012968 - Integer Operations/Second: 578690888 - MD5 Hashes Generated/Second: 914103 Graphics Tests (Score: 379) - 3D Frames Per Second: 1064 Hardware Tests (Score: 36) - Primary Partition Capacity: 466 GB - Drive Write Speed: 94 MB/s Quick Comparison and here it is after I switched the sticks into a dual channel config AMD FX8320 EightCore running at 3514 MHz ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series GPU 3992 MB System RAM (Score: 127) - RAM Speed: 6846 MB/s CPU Tests (Score: 645) - Floating Point Operations/Second: 236813200 - Integer Operations/Second: 588597648 - MD5 Hashes Generated/Second: 928835 Graphics Tests (Score: 418) - 3D Frames Per Second: 1166 Hardware Tests (Score: 36) - Primary Partition Capacity: 466 GB - Drive Write Speed: 95 MB/s quite a difference from just switching from single to dual channel and a reboot
