Fix the NovabenchDriverWin10.sys anti-cheat error

Fortnite or another game can show this message:

Please unload NovabenchDriverWin10.sys before starting the game

The game blocks a legacy driver that Novabench 4 installed to read hardware information.

Uninstall Novabench 4. Then restart Windows to remove the conflict.

Novabench 5 and 6 are not affected.

Quick fix

1. Close the game and its launcher.
2. Uninstall NovaBench 4 from Windows Settings > Apps.
3. Restart Windows. Then open the game again.

Installing Novabench 5 or 6 does not remove Novabench 4. Uninstall it separately.

Why does anti-cheat block the driver?

Novabench 4 used a driver based on WinRing0 to read hardware and sensor information. WinRing0 was widely used by many hardware monitoring tools at the time.

Some anti-cheat systems block anything they detect as WinRing0, because poorly configured versions could be misused by cheat software.

Novabench 4 restricted access to its driver to prevent the misuse that anti-cheat systems are concerned about, but anti-cheat blocks the driver regardless of how it was configured.

Novabench 5 and 6 do not use WinRing0 drivers.

If you still want to benchmark your computer, download Novabench 6. It does not include the old driver.
