Explain
Explain analyzes your benchmark results and provides plain-language explanations and actionable recommendations. Explain puts your results in context and tells you what they mean for your specific use case.
What Explain provides
When you open Explain from a result view, it returns a structured analysis:
- Summary: a two-to-three sentence overview of your overall performance
- Key insights: three to five observations about your specific scores, highlighting strengths and weaknesses
- What this means: a practical interpretation tailored to your situation
- Recommendations: one to four actionable next steps you can take
Explain works for different result types. The analysis adapts depending on whether you are viewing an overall benchmark score, or an individual component (CPU, GPU, Memory, Storage, NPU),.
How to use Explain
Open Explain from a result
After running a benchmark, open your result and click the Explain button. Explain examines your scores, compares them against known data for your hardware, and generates an analysis.
The analysis takes into account:
- Your CPU, GPU, memory, and storage scores
- How your scores compare to other systems with the same hardware (percentile ranking)
- Sensor data like temperature and power consumption during the test
- Whether any component is performing below expected levels
What data Explain analyzes
Explain examines the following data from your benchmark:

What Explain does not do
- Does not recommend BIOS or chipset updates (due to the risk involved)
- Does not suggest specific third-party software
- Does not provide cost estimates or product purchase links
- Does not access your files, browsing history, or any personal data beyond your benchmark results
