Features
Scheduled tests
Scheduled tests let you run benchmarks or network tests automatically on a recurring basis. Use scheduling to track performance over time or monitor network reliability.
What you can schedule
Novabench supports scheduling three test types:
Test type | What it runs |
|---|---|
Benchmark | Performance tests (CPU, GPU, memory, storage) with your configured settings |
Network test | Speed test, traceroute, or DNS benchmark |
Setting up a scheduled test
- Configure your test as you normally would (select benchmark options, stress test targets, or network test type).
- Instead of running the test immediately, select Schedule as recurring test from the dropdown menu.
- Choose your schedule frequency, day(s), and time.
- Confirm the schedule.
Novabench registers the schedule with your operating system's task scheduler (Windows Task Scheduler on Windows, crontab on macOS and Linux). The test runs automatically at the specified time, even if the Novabench application is not open (as long as the background service is available).
Managing scheduled tests
Open Manage Scheduled Tests from the Novabench menu to view all active schedules. The management view shows:
Column | Description |
|---|---|
Type | Benchmark, Stress Test, or Network Test |
Configuration | Summary of test parameters (GPU target, duration, test type, etc.) |
Schedule | Human-readable schedule description (e.g., "Every Monday at 9:00 AM") |
Actions | Delete the scheduled test |
To remove a schedule, click the delete button and confirm. The test stops running automatically after deletion.
Viewing scheduled results
Results from scheduled tests appear in the same results grid as manually triggered tests.
Use the results grid to track trends over time. For example, if you schedule a weekly benchmark, you can sort by date and watch whether your scores remain consistent or change after system updates.
