Desktop under performing

Recommended Posts

My desktop seems to be greatly under performing and I cant figure out why. I have a i7 6700k ,. an msi gtx 1070  16gb ddr4 ram 1tb mass storage and a  128 gb m.2  ssd handling the os. Its on a MSI gaming M7 mobo. I have performed a couple benchmarks including heaven in which i scored 1.4.k consistantly (other similar builds are all over 2k ) and now i turned to Novabench for help and my results also seem very low. I did notice the 3d rendering especially seems low. I primarily game, surf the internet, stream movies and do some occasional online shopping. Any guidance on these issues would be tremendously appreciated.

I think Graphics Tests score is too low for a GTX 1070

yes it is... my GTX1070 scores over 4000 FPS in windows 7..

do me a favor? partion one of your hard drives to "34GB" or Shrink drive, download with windows 7 iso from micrsoft make a bootable USB drive using microsofts USB drive installer. install windows 7 on the 34gb partion. install all your drivers,(download them all for windows 7 first and put them in a folder on the 34gb partion)  download nova bench run the test again.

i bet you score almost double the FPS for your graphics card..

iv been having the same problem and i cant work it out. no one seems to know or want to help.
