RAM speed question

Recommended Posts

New to PC gaming and traded my Xbone for this current setup. The guy I bought it from said that it has two 8GB sticks of RAM. One is 1600Mhz and the other is 1333Mhz. CPUZ reads it as 1333MHZ and Im wondering if this affects overall speed having two different speeds. Should I replace the 1333 stick or will I be ok for a bit? My GPU is a bit underpowered, I would like to replace that before the RAM. Thanks in advance!

The speed of your RAM is capped to the lowest speed of your RAM cards (so, 1333MHz). It probably won't cause you problems, but nice to take advantage of the faster RAM you already have if you can get another at the same speed.
