How is Novabench working this out?!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have just installed 2 Vertex series 2 drives in RAID 0. Here are the specifications for the drives:

  • Max Read: up to 285MB/s
  • Max Write: up to 275MB/s
  • Sustained Write: up to 250MB/s
  • Random Write 4KB (Aligned): 50,000 IOPS

I then ran Novabench and got a very poor score:

Hardware Tests (Score: 14)
- Primary Partition Capacity: 112 GB
- Drive Write Speed: 60 MB/s

How has this happened? 60MB/s?!

I then ran HD Tune 2.25 and it stated the following after its test:

Minimum: 302.1 MB/sec
Maximum: 540.9 MB/sec
Average: 506.2MB/s

Why is Novabench giving me such a low score?

Thanks for your help in advance,
James.
