Post your benchmark score

Recommended Posts

Been Tweaking and using Nova Bench to test my tweaks on my A10-5800K rig.

Had been finding that Win7 was consistently out performing Win8, but that has changed. Win8 now holds the top honours for my Nova Benchmark.

Found I needed to disabled AMDs Overdrive functions in AMDs Vision Control Centre (aka Catalyst) and use MSi's Afterburner utility to tweak my ASUS graphic cards. ASUS's own Tweak Utility did not work on my ASUS cards because it set the minimum Memory Clock from these cards to 2000, which is twice the recommended max. In MSi's Afterburner I set that to 1300 in my latest test. I find it I push it a little too far, the Nova Bench score drops down to the 600-700 range. Tweak it just right and I was able to break 1300. For this latest test I set Core Clock to 977 (default is 810) and Memory Clock to 1300 (max allowed). Will continue to tweak and see if I can find where the drop off point it. I also disabled a few of the processes running in the background, things like Adobe updater and Epson's printer utilities and a few other apps that I could readily identify as unnecessary. Probably many of those I left running could have been disabled but I didnt bother figuring out which I could turn off without compromising the system.

I'm very happy with my score but my GPU (Radeon HD 7850) only scored 499 in the benchmark but when i look on the Novabench top GPUs charts i see AMD HD 7800 Series average is 562, is 499 a bad score for a HD 7850?, or is the HD 7870 causeing the avg score to be higher?

Yes, it's likely a combination of 7870 and also people who overclock bringing the average up.

your probebly right, i don't feel i need to overclock my GPU right now because everygame i have i can play at Ultra setting with full AA maybe one day i will though

this system was able to jump into the 2k range after some 'not to aggressive' OC'ing to the CPU and Vid.

Here is my benchmark score,

My system has no problem running the latest games, so I have no need to waste money upgrading.

A little help - I'm a noob and my benchmark score is very low. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My HD transfer is very bad.

My results for my new rig. This is the first PC I have built. Prior to this I had installed gpu, psu, hdd, etc. but never did the whole shebang. I had a great time learning about everything and putting it all together. I use it mostly for work (not computer based, merely word processing, web, email, etc.) and gaming. I used to be primarilly a console gamer but when I heard the ps4 specs were going to be akin to a mid-level gaming PC from last year, I decided to make the jump over to PC's for everything. Eventually I want to use my PC to control every bit of electronics in my house. Thermostat, television, lighting, kitchen, etc.

I OC'd my cpu up to 4.4 ghz. It does not show up this way under the cpu information here, but according to other forum posts, the benchmark test does take it into account.

good move all consoles are underpowerd, overrated piles of crap, with much less modderability for the games or the machine itself
