Thought my workhorse would score better, middling at best based on the 19 other similar set ups. Air cooled, not overclocked.

Well, its an old system, the only new upgrade was the GPU (had a 550Ti Windforce II edtion), but after 5-6 years i decided i will pump money into my pc again, but this time going for an AMD build with Rayzen (when it launches)

The RAM, HDD, PSU is 6 years old.

The CPU is 1-2 year-ish old

The MOBO is a cheap mATX since when i installed the GPU i damaged my original one and it went out in a bang and smoke.

The GPU is a week long buy, since i ran a 550TI Before

But overall the price on this PC is around 470-500 USD

Also brought a cheap case for like 30 USD along the GPU.

Also i tried my best to mange my cables, and build it up a bit so this is the result.

EDIT > Well, overclocked the GPU and here are the new results

My highest score is 1658 and now I can't replicate anywhere near that score. I just used novabench 3 times using 3 restarts, turning off services and I got it up to 1601. Also the scores are lower than the verified score on the website when i click compare results online.

hi all thats my score a bit disappointing as not sure why is only 132MBs the writing speed when it should be 1135.9 MByte/sec :D reading 1377.8 MByte/sec once i can figure it out how to attach the proof of that youll see

Not sure if i should be getting a better score. Brand new Kabi-Lake, fast ram, and a decent card, as well as the best chip-set available. Am I missing something? Also as to the Mac guys, the action of using an aftermarket GPU in a Mac is not even officially supported, so i would think it's a waste of time posting here as there is inherently no driver support, or updated firms.

If I had a better SSD, or RAID set up, I'd get a slightly better score. Also if I get a bigger radiator for the cooler I could go up to 5ghz
