  1. Hi Nathan, Sorry for the slow reply I have been somewhat preoccupied as we are putting in a new server and completly re cabling the building. Anyway here are the examples My machine: Verified NovaBench Score: 899 Test run on June 19, 2012 at 05:27 Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Intel Xeon W3540 2.93GHz running at 2933 MHz NVIDIA Quadro 2000 GPU 12286 MB System RAM (Score: 205) - RAM Speed: 8990 MB/s CPU Tests (Score: 417) - Floating Point Operations/Second: 103254660 - Integer Operations/Second: 349087056 - MD5 Hashes Generated/Second: 970260 Graphics Tests (Score: 232) - 3D Frames Per Second: 679 Hardware Tests (Score: 45) - Primary Partition Capacity: 466 GB - Drive Write Speed: 147 MB/s Another 400 machine: Verified NovaBench Score: 788 Test run on August 31, 2010 at 07:47 Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Intel Xeon W3540 2.93GHz running at 2933 MHz NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800 GPU 12286 MB System RAM (Score: 207) - RAM Speed: 9389 MB/s CPU Tests (Score: 426) - Floating Point Operations/Second: 102482612 - Integer Operations/Second: 370168564 - MD5 Hashes Generated/Second: 984331 Graphics Tests (Score: 135) - 3D Frames Per Second: 413 Hardware Tests (Score: 20) - Primary Partition Capacity: 137 GB - Drive Write Speed: 96 MB/s A 600 machine Verified NovaBench Score: 808 Test run on June 28, 2012 at 09:03 Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise Intel Xeon W3540 2.93GHz running at 2933 MHz NVIDIA Quadro NVS 295 GPU 8190 MB System RAM (Score: 166) - RAM Speed: 6153 MB/s CPU Tests (Score: 610) - Floating Point Operations/Second: 206071928 - Integer Operations/Second: 617248792 - MD5 Hashes Generated/Second: 860034 Graphics Tests (Score: 0) - 3D Frames Per Second: 0 Hardware Tests (Score: 32) - Primary Partition Capacity: 298 GB - Drive Write Speed: 113 MB/s Another 600 Verified NovaBench Score: 836 Test run on March 19, 2012 at 18:12 Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise Intel Xeon W3540 2.93GHz running at 2933 MHz NVIDIA Quadro NVS 295 GPU 6142 MB System RAM (Score: 93) - RAM Speed: 3225 MB/s CPU Tests (Score: 671) - Floating Point Operations/Second: 204615304 - Integer Operations/Second: 698199168 - MD5 Hashes Generated/Second: 1020902 Graphics Tests (Score: 68) - 3D Frames Per Second: 220 Hardware Tests (Score: 4) - Primary Partition Capacity: 233 GB - Drive Write Speed: 8 MB/s I found these by searching for keyword "Xeon W3540" ; all the results listed are either ~ 400 or ~600 with the exception of highly overclocked examples. Thank you for looking into it, i'm stumped! David
  2. Hi, I have just acheived a cpu score for my Xeon W3540 2.93GHz chip of 417 and looked at other peoples results for the same chip. What i found was that about two thirds of the results were around the 600 mark and the rest are around the 400 mark. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground; scores are either one or the other. MD5 hash performance is about the same but the integer and floating point results are around half the performance on the systems scoring 400. The fact that it is very close to half did make me wonder if only 2 cores are being used instead of 4 but running Task manager whilst testing shows all 4 cores are being utilised. Obviously i would be interested in doubling the performance of my chip on these tests if anyone has any bright ideas? Thank you for you time, David
